By accessing or using FreeTides.com (the “Site”), including any page, chart, table, or embedded widget powered by the Site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Not for Navigation

The tide predictions, water levels, sunrise/sunset times, moon data, and all other information on this Site are provided for general planning, educational, and recreational purposes only. They are NOT to be used for navigation. Do not rely on this Site to make decisions where an error could result in injury, loss of life, or damage to property or the environment. For navigation, consult official government charts, publications, and real-time observations from the appropriate authorities (in the United States, NOAA and the U.S. Coast Guard).

2. Predictions Are Estimates

Tide information on this Site consists of predictions derived from publicly available NOAA harmonic and subordinate station data, together with mathematical interpolation between predicted high and low tides. Actual water levels are routinely affected by weather, wind, barometric pressure, river flow, seiches, storm surge, and other conditions, and can differ significantly from predicted values. Astronomical times (sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, moon phase) are calculated values and may differ slightly from other sources.

3. No Warranty

The Site and all of its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data will be current or correct for any particular station, date, or time.

4. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for any use of the data presented on this Site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FreeTides.com, its owner, and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to personal injury, death, property damage, vessel grounding or damage, lost profits, or lost data — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any information obtained from it, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it.

5. Assumption of Risk

Activities on or near the water are inherently dangerous. You assume all risk arising from your use of the information on this Site. Always exercise independent judgment, monitor real-time conditions, and comply with all applicable laws and safety guidance.

6. Embedded Widgets and Third-Party Use

These Terms apply equally to FreeTides data displayed on third-party websites through our embeddable widget. Website owners who embed the widget are responsible for presenting it without alteration, including the attribution links, and may not present the data as suitable for navigation.

7. Data Sources

Station locations and tide predictions are derived from data published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). FreeTides.com is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, NOAA or any government agency.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
